Dear ICANN… While I can understand that “getting there first” entitles you to certain privileges in life, I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase “use it or lose it”.

Forcing numbers and/or special characters in passwords is counter-productive. Increasing the required complexity of passwords decreases its memorability, forcing users to either write their passwords on post-it notes attached to their monitors or to continually request password reminders (which are generally sent using the not-so-secure medium of email).
